Presenter: Zoubida Pasha, MSCS, Parent Advocate at Family Resource Center on Disabilities

Overview: This presentation will discuss topics such as the transition to Post-Secondary Education issues relating to transitioning  from school to adult life/post-secondary education. As well as identifying outcomes and developing goals as part of the IEP process. This presentation aims to help parents and young adults to become knowledgeable regarding resources in the community in order to build linkages, and ensure a dignified life as a contributing citizen.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define transition services
  • Outline the collaborative process for individual student planning
  • Identify guiding questions based on the definition of transition
  • Recognize formal and natural supports in the community

Continuing Education Credits:

2.0 CEU’s are available for LCSW, LCPC, LSW, LPC and QIDP.

All other professionals are encouraged to check with their respective licensing boards for questions about whether this workshop meets criteria for continuing education credits.

Following the event, attendees will receive an email with a link to the online evaluation to complete.  Once the evaluation response window closes, CEU certificates will be emailed.  This process takes approximately 3 weeks following the event.
