Local Health Department Supervisory Skills Series: Excelling as a Manager or Supervisor

So you've just been promoted to what?
Register for this online series to build basic supervisory skills you can utilize at your health department. These sessions will focus on practical tips and skill building, including:
  • Communicating with staff
  • Building trust
  • Motivating staff
  • Delegation
  • Shaping performance through feedback
  • Conflict resolution
  • Meeting management
This series is comprised of seven (7) virtual sessions and attendees who complete all seven sessions will be awarded a certificate upon completion. Attendees who complete all seven sessions will also receive $100 off registration at IPHA's 2021 Conference. Attendance at all seven sessions is critical to attendee success.
Who Should Attend
Local health department managers and supervisors with 1-3 years of management experience.

Registration Fee: There is no fee to attend this training.
Space is limited to 19 attendees and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration closes on May 14, or when all spots have been filled, whichever comes first.
About the Speaker: Miriam Link-Mullison
Miriam has over 35 years experience in public health supervisory roles. She retired from Jackson County Health Department in Illinois after 20 years as the director. She has also worked in health education at local and state health departments. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at SIUC in the MPH program and provides public health consultation and workforce development to local health departments and the Illinois Public Health Association.
Ms. Link-Mullison has been active in the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the American Public Health Association (APHA). She has served as President of the Illinois Public Health Association and the Illinois Association of Public Health Administrators, and has been a part of many statewide planning initiatives.
