Date: Thursday, April 21, 2022

Time: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Location: Webinar

Public Health Education Talks (PHEd Talks) are monthly sessions featuring timely public health topics with subject matter experts. Hosted by the Illinois Public Health Association.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a massive impact on frontline healthcare workers and the public health system over the last two years, increasing the risks of psychological distress in health professionals. Burnout is the prolonged response to chronic emotional and interpersonal stressors on the job, and leads to emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and personal inefficacy. Join a panel of nurses to hear about their experiences in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, and learn about the risks of burnout and how to prevent it. Attendees will also learn about best-practices in self care along with practical tips and applications for remediation.

Speakers: Cathy Coverston Anderson, Assistant Administrator, McClean County Health Department; Linda B. Roberts, MSN, RN, Manager, Illinois Nursing Workforce Center, IDFPR; Julia Marynus, RN, BA, LNC, MCH Nurse Specialist, Stephenson County Health Department
