As a longtime advocate for violence prevention policies, IPHA recognizes a comprehensive public health approach as necessary to addressing the growing gun violence crisis. The issue of gun violence is complex and deeply rooted in our culture, which is why we must take a public health approach to ensuring our families and communities are safe. IPHA has convened a taskforce to strategically develop a position paper and policy resolution that reflects public health’s position on gun safety and violence prevention.
