The purpose of the Forums are to expose students to the many growing careers paths available in the rural health arena and how they are not all related to direct patient care. *The Forums are free but registration is required to get an accurate headcount.

The IL Rural Health Association is hosting two Student Rural Health Career Forums this spring and we are in need of a Public Health Administrator and Mental Health Professional to serve as a panelist at each one. Each panelist will speak for about 5-7 minutes about what they do and what path they took to get there.

IRHA has Spring scholarships available and Student Board Member positions open.

The Illinois Rural Health Association (IRHA) will host its 28th Annual Educational Conference August 9th-10th at the Champaign Hilton.

On September 8, 2016 the Federal Register posted the final rule Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers. The regulation goes into effect on November 16, 2016. Health care providers and suppliers affected by this rule must comply and implement all regulations one year after the effective date, on November 16, 2017.” (CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule) This rule will affect all 17 Medicare provider types. Join us for a review of these requirements and how your organization should prepare.

The Forum will consist of three panel discussions with top healthcare administrators, clinicians, and grad students, as well as academic program chairs, who will explain what they do and offer advice to those wanting to enter the field.

IRHA will host a webinar on April 12, 2017.

The conference is an opportunity for rural healthcare administrators and clinicians to advance their professional skills, while networking and learning best practices from their counterparts throughout the state.
