It’s the last couple days of the scheduled legislative session and there is yet another, last minute attempt to reduce Physical Education (P.E.) in schools. House Floor Amendment 1 to House Bill 1259 would eliminate the daily P.E. requirement for Illinois students and reduce the amount of P.E. to only 3 days a week.

The Illinois House will be taking floor votes on a state budget this Monday, Memorial Day.

CBO and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) have completed an estimate of the direct spending and revenue effects of H.R. 1628, the American Health Care Act of 2017, as passed by the House of Representatives.

The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) provides free mammograms and Pap tests to women aged 35 to 64 who are uninsured. From 2010-2015, the IBCCP detected 563 breast cancers and 1,109 cervical cancers and precancerous lesions.
