To all of you, Happy President’s Day.
First, let me say how much we appreciated all the kind notes from people regarding our success with Family Case Management. We hope that you will soon see the cash infusion that you so desperately need. I also want to thank the Shriver Center for their excellent representation and work in court. Also, congratulations to those doing the billing work and the incredible outcome we are seeing for some of you. As you may know, Phil Talley who heads the billing work for IPHA, has had surgery and will be out for a month. Phil is an integral part of the IPHA family and we wish him a speedy recovery. If you need assistance in the billing program, Lanie Cooper is more than capable of assisting you.
The IPHA election this year will require one new At-Large member and the selection of two Nominating Committee members. Candidate forms will be available shortly for those interested in running for one of the positions. I have met with Amaal Tokars, our Committee Chair, and we are committed to open and transparent elections at IPHA. Please watch the IPHA website for candidate information and forms.
This next week, I will be meeting with Casey Coots from Walden University to discuss Walden’s partnership with IPHA and to see how we can enhance this opportunity for our members. I will also have meetings with SIU and travel to Chicago to attend a meeting with the leadership of the Illinois State Dental Society. The Society has asked me to join them at their mid-winter meeting to see how the two associations can collaborate and assist each other. One area of interest that I have expressed is increasing the number of dentists willing to work with HIV positive clients. The Society has expressed an interest in assisting in this area.
Lastly, the IPHA staff will be attending the Phoenix Center trivia night in support of PLWHA. IPHA has been a longtime supporter of the Center and the goal of stable housing.
Have a great week! No, we have no budget.
