APHA: Oppose cuts to the Prevention and Public Health Fund!

Dear Friends of Public Health,

This week, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote to cut critical funding from the Prevention and Public Health Fund to offset the cost of funding community health centers and other important health programs that have expired. While APHA strongly supports reauthorizing these expired programs, we do not support doing so at the expense of the prevention fund and the important public health programs that already depend on this funding, including programs to increase immunizations, prevent lead poisoning and prevent the spread of infectious diseases like the Zika and Ebola viruses.

Take the time to contact your representative and tell them to oppose the CHAMPION Act and any future effort to undermine the integrity of the Prevention and Public Health Fund.

Thank you for you continued advocacy in support of the Prevention and Public Health Fund!

Sincerely,

Don Hoppert
APHA Government Relations Director
