Prevention First launches Media Campaigns related to the Opioid Crisis

Prevention First has launched two media campaigns that are designed to address two issues related to opioid crisis.

The first is the #EOM: Ending Opioid Misuse in Illinois media campaign, which was developed with IDHS/DASA support and in collaboration with the Opioid Crisis Response Advisory Council Public Awareness and Education Committee.  It is designed to bring greater awareness to the general public that together we can make the difference in ending opioid misuse in our state, that people can and do recover from opioid use disorder, and that help is a phone call away. You can view materials here.

Also released is the Guard and Discard media campaign which is designed to bring awareness of safe use, safe storage and safe disposal practices of prescription drugs. This is a print media series that provides monthly (through June 2018) posters and take-away postcards for distribution through key community locations – prescriber locations, pharmacies, religious institutions, libraries, etc. You can view the materials in English here or in Spanish here.

Prevention First is asking for your help in displaying and distributing campaign posters in your organizations and community partners.  The greater saturation we have across the state, the more people we will reach and the more effective our message will be. Please use the attached order form to order campaign materials. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Zambole at
