Oral Health Practitioners and Cancer Prevention through HPV Vaccination
Webinar on January 26, 2022 | 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. CT
Oropharyngeal cancer is on the rise, and oral health professionals now have the power to help prevent it. This session will outline easy-to-implement strategies for all members of the dental team, the oral health community, and the Illinois Cancer Partnership Coalition to play an active role in reducing the incidence of this devastating cancer.
The Illinois Department of Public Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and Division of Oral Health are pleased to present this webinar opportunity in which participants will:
Gain insight into the current HPV policies, guidelines, and resources on HPV vaccination from key national organizations.
Hear directly from a survivor of HPV-related cancer regarding significant challenges patients fighting this disease endure.
Gain an understanding of the HPV vaccination schedule, how to improve HPV vaccination rates, and where to refer children through the age of 18 for HPV vaccines.
One hour of CEU will be offered only for licensed registered dental hygienists (RDH) and doctors of dental surgery (DDS). Each participant must register individually to receive CEUs. Only the registered RDH or DDS participant will be eligible to receive CEUs.
