The Illinois Public Health Association (IPHA) is pleased to announce the addition of two staff to join our growing team. Michelle Sanders and Makeda Coutee will start work with IPHA in March. Michelle and Makeda bring a variety of experiences working with community-based organizations and project leadership to their new roles.

Michelle Sanders joins IPHA as the Assistant Director of Community Health.  Michelle will be working with Tracey Smith, Director of Community Health, on the Association’s Community Health Worker projects.  She served most recently as the Director of Development and Marketing for Heartland Health Services; a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Peoria.  Ms. Sanders will be based in the Springfield Office.

Makeda Coutee will serve as the Project Coordinator for Community Diversity Initiatives, based out of the new IPHA office located on the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.  Makeda will work with Krissy Roseberry, Director of Special Projects, to provide project coordination efforts and work with community partners and sub-grantees on quality improvement strategies to build community capacity.

We look forward to having Michelle and Makeda join the IPHA team!
