Job Description

If so, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is seeking a Program Coordinator, Adolescent Health and Substance Use Initiatives to provide administrative and programmatic support for assigned initiatives that link the physician community and other partners and stakeholders at the national, state, and practice levels to activities that support health promotion and disease prevention for children with prenatal substance exposure(s) and their families.


Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, with a 1-hour lunch.

Qualifications needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, education, or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.
• At least two years’ related administrative or project coordination experience required, including coordinating and facilitating meetings and budget tracking/coordination, preferably in a health-related setting or association.
• Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, diplomacy, customer service, critical thinking, writing, proofreading, and communication skills required.
• Some travel, overtime, and weekend work required.

Some tasks include:
• Coordinate print and social media marketing and promotional activities for assigned program areas, including executing annual marketing campaigns; producing and disseminating program materials and marketing pieces; and working with applicable vendors.
• Work with staff and volunteers/stakeholders to update, design, and develop content for the AAP.org and HealthyChildren.org websites.
• Coordinate educational offerings that occur under the auspices of funded projects including meeting coordination for planning team(s) and faculty/subject matter experts and facilitation of continuing medical education and maintenance of certification processes.
• Coordinate quality improvement and other practice change and program improvement program offerings including recruitment and engagement of practices; facilitation of data collection and analysis; working with applicable vendors/consultants; and ensuring fidelity to institutional review board and other oversight entities.
• Assist with the planning of in-person and virtual meetings, including logistics such as hotel arrangements, meeting facilities, meals, transportation, preparation and compilation of materials, and processing meeting expense reports. Provide on-site meeting assistance as needed.
