Job Description

The DeKalb County Health Department is seeking a full-time (37.5 hours per week) WIC & FCM Coordinator. This exempt position reports to the Director of Community Health and Prevention. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated leadership experience, excellent communication skills and case management experience.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the operation, assessment, and implementation of assigned Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programs including the WIC, FCM, Healthworks (HWIL) and Childhood Lead Prevention programs to ensure quality of services provided.
• Provides direction, supervision and evaluation of assigned MCH staff. Responsible for caseload assignment across MCH programs.
• Conduct staff meetings, and provide resources for in-service education and training programs for program staff.
• Assist with preparation of grant applications, data collection, written reports and fiscal planning as needed.
• Assure that program goals and grant directives are met with proper documentation and participate in assessment of program activities during local and state program audits.
• Analyze and evaluate programs to improve the services provided. Update policy and procedures as needed including clinical protocols as applicable in alignment of standards of care.
• Attend conferences, meetings and training programs per grant requirements and assure professional development. Participate in regional meetings as indicated.
• Conduct quality assurance activities and identify improvement needs.
• Collaborate with community health partners to build and maintain relationships that enhance delivery of maternal and child health programming.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Registered Nurse, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in nursing.
OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in public health or similar field with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a public health setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to problem solve, provide leadership, and be part of the team.
• Ability to be flexible and establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Starting salary range of $57,800 to $60,600 annually
