Advocacy 101 for Community Health Workers
Speaker
Conny Moody, MBA - Illinois Public Health Association, Government Relations & Compliance
Description
Community Health Workers (CHWs) are the trusted care providers for individuals and communities throughout the world. However, CHWs have historically been excluded from conversations and decision-making that influence their work and communities. With advocacy training, CHWs are well equipped to engage in political, civic, and workplace advocacy. This training is designed to introduce CHWs to the state and federal legislative process; learn about health advocacy – what it is and how it works; and explore ways CHWs can get involved in health advocacy.
