IPHA’s HIV, AIDS, STI, and Viral Hepatitis Program serves as one of Illinois’ premier resource centers for innovative and effective HIV, AIDS, STI, and Viral Hepatitis capacity building, policy making, and programming. IPHA maintains a portfolio of successful projects, working with hundreds of community partners statewide to reduce the transmission of HIV and STIs in Illinois communities and to support Illinois’ efforts to get to zero new HIV transmissions in the state by 2030.
Communities of Color – Social Media Trainings and Mpox Marketing Campaign
This program provides HIV prevention social media trainings for healthcare professionals looking to reach African American and Latino men who have sex with men in Illinois to assist in reducing high HIV rates in this population. The program also disseminates educational information about mpox to gay and bisexual men living in downstate Illinois.

HIV Care Connect
HIV Care Connect links persons with HIV/AIDS to existing care and treatment services, resulting in ongoing primary care and increased adherence with treatment. Outreach targets health care, social service, and corrections system providers that have contact with individuals who may or may not know their HIV status and are not in care, have not returned for treatment services, or do not adhere to treatment plans.

HIV Prevention Lead Agency
This program provides oversight of HIV Prevention Regional services through administration of sub-grants, coordination of provider services data reporting, technical assistance, training and support, ongoing quality assurance of sub-grantee HIV Prevention programs, and compilation of required documentation and data reports for the Department of Public Health.

Routine HIV Screening Support
This project offers capacity-building support to Illinois local health departments and healthcare clinics in implementing routine HIV screening and third-party billing for these services.

Hepatitis B Outreach and Education
This program provides outreach, referral to screening, and education regarding Hepatitis B to African and Asian immigrants across Illinois utilizing a proven effective peer model in community networks.

HIV Age Positively Policy and Advocacy Center
This project seeks to address the healthcare, social, and well-being needs of Illinoisans living with HIV who are aged 50+ through community partnerships, an HIV and Aging Policy Corps, and numerous HIV and aging-related trainings.
