Strategic Goal 1:  Drive policies and legislation focused on improving the public health infrastructure.

1.1 Build capacity of PH system to advocate effectively.

Strategic Goal 2:  Build capacity and support comprehensive pathways to create a diverse workforce that is engaged, well-trained, and connected to the communities they serve.

2.1 Engage partners to strengthen and enhance pathways to public health careers.

2.2 Maximize capacity of existing public health workforce.

2.3 Offer training to support professional licensing and certification requirements as a member engagement strategy.

2.4 Assure workforce readiness to equip CHWs and their subspecialties to work at the top of their practice and profession.

2.5 Address public health professional workforce shortages.

Strategic Goal 3:  Advance Health Equity.  

3.1 Address structural and systemic oppression and discrimination barriers within the public health system through policy and system changes.

3.2 Provide training on effective approaches to address health equity.

3.3 Recognize and advance effective health equity programming.

Strategic Goal 4:  Build trust in the public health system and its workforce through engagement by lifting up diverse voices and perspectives.

4.1 Engage and assist in building trust in public health through candor, clarity, and coordination.

4.2 Champion efforts to clarify the role of public health in our communities.

4.3 Increase competencies to effectively market and promote public health and its value.
