This presentation will introduce community health workers to Hepatitis B, a global public health threat that affects nearly 300 million individuals. CHWs will learn about the burden of the disease, transmission, symptoms, testing and diagnosis, prevention, and vaccination. Populations at highest risk for Hepatitis B, including African and Asian immigrants, will be discussed. The presentation will end with strategies CHWs can utilize to address Hepatitis B in their communities.
