IPHA Advocacy Lunch & Learns
Speaker
Conny Moody, MBA - Associate Executive Director for Government Relations and Compliance, Illinois Public Health Association
Description
Ready. Set. Action! is the theme for National Public Health Week 2026 (NPHW).
As we join our colleagues to celebrate, we should take a moment to recognize how public health has improved our daily lives, safeguarded our families, expanded our life spans, and strengthened our communities. These success stories can be attributed to public health workers who show up and advocate for policies and practices that promote good health for all. Join your colleagues for a series of advocacy webinars to learn more about advocacy topics. Each webinar is hosted by Conny Moody, IPHA Government Relations, and will be approximately 45 minutes long and will focus on a different aspect of advocating for public health. One way to celebrate National Public Health Week is to plan a NPHW lunch with your colleagues and view these webinars as a group.
- Monday, April 6, 2026 - Government Basics: How government works (branches, policymaking, bills) at different levels.
- Wednesday, April 8, 2028 - Introduction to Advocacy: What it is, why it matters, and different methods (legislative, media, grassroots).
- Friday, April 10, 2026 - Engaging Elected Officials and Decision-Makers: Talking to elected officials, preparing for meetings, and tailoring messages to tell the public health story.
