Reinforcing Your Community's Safety Net
Webinar Description
Local health departments have long been "safety net" providers serving their communities' most underserved and vulnerable populations. However, traditional sources of funding for local health departments, such as government grants, have been diminishing while the need and demand for services have been steadily increasing. As a result, our community safety nets are being pushed beyond their capacity. Now more than ever it is vitally important for health departments to develop a business model that depends less on public funding and more on billing third-party payers, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. This webinar will teach health departments how to maximize fair compensation for the vital health services they provide.
