Ninth Annual National Day of Racial Healing

January 21, 2025

Keeping with tradition, the ninth annual observance of the National Day of Racial Health 2025 will take place the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which this year also falls on the day following the inauguration of the next president of the United States. The day calls us to take stock of where we are as individuals, communities and a nation.

The National Day of Racial Healing is about connecting, building relationships and bridging divides. It is the experience shared by people when they speak openly and hear the truth about past wrongs and the negative impacts created by individual and systemic racism. Racial healing helps to build trust among people and restores communities to wholeness, so they can work together on changing the systems and structures that affirm the inherent value of all people.
