Event Information

Registration will open 2 weeks prior to the event.

Registration Fee:  $10 (payment must be made online at the time of registration).  Registration is limited to the first 300 paid registrants.

Time:  9:00am - 11:00am

Overview: Anxiety disorders are amongst the most commonly diagnosed psychiatric conditions in childhood. Data suggests that the prevalence rates for youth anxiety is increasing. What are the biological and environmental factors contributing to this increase and what can parents, teachers, and professionals do to support children who struggle with anxiety? Join us in reviewing the symptoms of various anxiety disorders and learn about how cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based approaches help to address anxiety in childhood.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the biological and environmental factors impacting childhood anxiety
  • Review the diagnostic criteria for several types of anxiety disorders in children
  • Summarize anxiety treatment models such as CBT and Mindfulness-Based approaches

Continuing Education Credits:

2.0 CEU’s are available for LCSW, LCPC, LSW, LPC and QIDP.

All other professionals are encouraged to check with their respective licensing boards for questions about whether this workshop meets criteria for continuing education credits.

Following the event, attendees will receive an email with a link to the online evaluation to complete.  Once the evaluation response window closes, CEU certificates will be emailed.  This process takes approximately 14 days following the event.

This training is provided by the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township and Riveredge Hospital.
