Rise ‘N’ Learn Webinar: Negotiation and Compromise for Better Work/Life Balance

Professional development workshops are sponsored by a partnership between the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park TownshipRiveredge Hospital, and Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System.

 

Overview: Over the last few years, the need for a healthy work/life balance has become increasingly recognized and demanded in U.S. employment culture.  In this workshop, participants will identify clinical skills that can be applied in negotiation conversations with employers and consider which types of benefits best apply to these scenarios. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn clinical skills which are applicable to negotiation scenarios.
  • Identify benefit types which employees may overlook trying to negotiate.
  • Practice skills in a role play/script format reviewing bargaining tactics.
  • Remember why a work/life balance is essential for helping professionals.

Presenter: Sandra Montes, LCSW, CADC, PEL – Owner, In Motion Counseling, PLLC

Sandra Montes is a bilingual, Latina therapist and the owner of In Motion Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her education at Loyola University Chicago. She holds a Professional Educator License in the state of IL (formerly Type 73) and is a certified alcohol and other drug counselor (CADC). 

Sandra has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings from inpatient units to community mental health settings. Using a trauma-informed lens, Sandra has helped clients with depression, anxiety, and stress management. Sandra is a firm believer in strength-based perspective and cognitive behavioral therapy. Sandra also believes in a spiritual and holistic perspective in therapy. She also has a focus on behavioral activation or "moving" helping clients become motivated to move their physical bodies to feel relief from their emotional states.

Sandra provides supervision to MSWs looking to become licensed clinicians. She is registered with NASW-IL as an approved clinical supervisor and provides reflective, culturally informed supervision towards licensure for MSW graduates. She has experience in case consultation and developing mental health programming.

Sandra enjoys running and has completed several races from 5ks to marathons. She has coached and helped clients go from couch to 5k and beyond.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: The registration fee is non-refundable. The registration fee is non-refundable.  Individuals who paid for but missed the workshop can use their payment as a credit towards a future Rise ‘N’ Learn, Lunch ‘N’ Learn or IDD Provider Networking Group sponsored by the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township, Riveredge Hospital and Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System.

Format:  You will receive a link to the Zoom webinar with instructions 24 hours prior to the training, if your registration fee has been paid. The email will come from rclark@ipha.com or ipha@ipha.com so please be sure to add these email addresses to your safe/white list or check your Junk/Spam folder if you cannot find the email in your inbox. This link includes Zoom registration, which assists with tracking attendance for the training. Once the Zoom registration is complete, you will receive an email from Zoom with a link to enter the session. 

Continuing Education Credits: 2.0 CEU’s available for LCSW, LCPC, LSW, and LPC

Following the event, attendees will receive an email with a link to the online evaluation to complete. Evaluations open within two (2) business days post-event and remain open for seven (7) days. All attendees MUST complete the online evaluation in order to receive a CEU certificate, no exceptions. Once the evaluation response window closes, CEU certificates will be emailed. This process takes approximately 2 weeks following the event.
