Contact Tracing Training

To address the ongoing public health crisis, the Policy, Practice and Prevention Research Center at University of Illinois Chicago School of Public Health has identified trainings that will help those interested in supporting public health efforts.

  • ASTHO Making Contact: A Training for COVID-19 Contact Tracers is offered through the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) eLearning Center.
  • JHU COVID-19 Contact Training was developed by John Hopkins University (JHU) and is offered through Coursera.

Almost three thousand trained contact tracers will be needed in Illinois over the coming months. We invite you to create an account in Public Health Learning (www.publichealthlearning.com) where you can complete either of these courses and document your training in one place.

As future trainings are identified and/or created we will include them in the learning management system and make them available to you. Your account on Public Health Learning will provide you with access to a variety of continuing education and professional development courses for public health professionals.

For those interested in supporting local public health authorities within Illinois to perform COVID-19 contact tracing, please complete the IDPH Contact Tracing Interest Form.
